Schweizer Agrarmedien acquires gf.medien and petfinder
With the acquisition of gf.medien GmbH and petfinder AG, Schweizer Agrarmedien AG strengthens its position in the Swiss pet media and marketplace segment.
Schweizer Agrarmedien AG (SAM) is acquiring gf.medien GmbH, publisher of the magazines “Welt der Tiere”, “Schweizer Hundemagazin” and “Schweizer Katzenmagazin”. In addition, SAM is acquiring the two Swiss pet marketplaces tier-inserate.ch and petfinder.ch.
Through these acquisitions, Schweizer Agrarmedien AG is bringing together established specialist magazines and high-reach digital marketplaces under one roof, creating a leading specialised media platform for the Swiss pet market. The transaction strengthens the company’s position in the pet segment while selectively expanding its offering beyond agricultural media.
Together with the publisher’s existing “TierWelt” magazine, the newly acquired pet media titles will reach a combined annual print circulation of more than 1.1 million copies. In addition, the digital platforms generate around 250,000 visits and more than 3.5 million page views per month.
Peter Neumann, CEO of Schweizer Agrarmedien AG, comments on the acquisition: “With this acquisition, we are creating a platform that combines leading pet marketplaces with established specialist magazines. This opens up new opportunities for our readers as well as for advertisers and business partners.”
