The succession planning of Swiss REX Articoli Tecnici SA has been successfully implemented through its integration into the French Borflex Group , an important player in the production of rubber, thermoplastic and composite technical articles.
Through this acquisition, Borflex becomes an important player in the European rubber sector, counting over 330 people in its workforce. Both on a product and on a market level, the two companies are synergic and complementary. Combining R&D capabilities, the group shall guarantee world-leading quality and innovation standards. REX production site in Mendrisio will be further strengthened and will act as a center of expertise and production of natural rubber products for the entire group.
REX has been active in the chemistry and elastomer sector since 1935 and has always played a key role in the technical articles field. Important solutions are represented by applications in rail infrastructure successfully used on a global level. The anti-vibrating elements mounted in the base tunnel of “San Gottardo” are applied in many projects all over the world. In the bicycles sector REX has distinguished itself for the development and production of the Swissstop brake pads and disc brakes.
Borflex is a renowned French group with 9 production sites, whose products range from large scale rubber elements to profiles in elastomeric material and includes composite materials. Borflex serves a wide range of customers and industries, and has a consolidated experience in supplying TGV-train profiles, seals for dam and other fluvial related constructions.
