New Tool for Growth Check-up
Ramus & Company developed together with Input Consulting a systematic check-up to determine the company’s current situation regarding the growth. Thanks to an efficient and well-founded approach, this innovative tool enables any company to identify their essential potential and fields of action for future growth.
Growth is a strategic core theme for entrepreneurial activities. Sooner or later, every company is faced with the strategic question of how and in which areas profitable growth can be achieved. Organic or external growth is often a much more efficient lever than other operational measures when it comes to improving the performance of an organisation.
Both external and internal factors play a role in the assessment and generation of growth. The growth dynamics vary greatly in different industries. In particular, cyclical developments and growth spurts can affect the entire industry. Besides the external, mainly market-driven influences, there are also internal factors that drive or inhibit growth in a company.
A clearly structured and systematic approach is needed to determine the current situation and identify the potential for business growth. Such a methodology can be used to analyse a wide range of issues relating to growth and to derive fields of action. This ranges from a general assessment of the current situation to best practices in individual aspects, such as the identification and activation of growth drivers. For this purpose Ramus & Company and Input Consulting have developed a growth check-up, which analyses the topic of growth in a structured way along five areas.
Each of these areas is analysed and evaluated by addressing 4-5 questions each. This results in a total of 23 dimensions, for which Ramus & Company and Input Consulting have each defined a best practice based on their many years of project experience. The developed check-up is ideal for an uncomplicated, fast and yet well-founded assessment of the growth dynamics and potential of a company.
By means of the 23 dimensions of the framework, an online survey can be used to classify the status of a company in comparison to the respective best practice. By interviewing several managers and employees, a differentiated recording of the current status from various relevant perspectives can be achieved.
Depending on the desired scope of the service, the online survey can be supplemented with personal interviews. In this way, initial findings from the survey can be further deepened, additional topics can be addressed and hypotheses from the online survey can be elaborated on. Company-specific fields of action are then prioritised in a joint workshop. On this basis, the company can develop and implement appropriate measures.
The benefits for companies
- The check-up gives companies the opportunity to systematically demonstrate their positioning towards best practice.
- The check-up covers important topics such as the weighting of organic and inorganic growth as well as the identification of growth drivers.
- Areas for immediate action are identified and provide the basis for faster and broader-based growth.
